CIS Accomplishments
 

All of us together...​

  1. Developed our Bylaws

  2. Renewed our 501 c3 status

  3. Filled out Board with relevant and devoted members.

  4. Revived a community beloved festival "The Orange-A-Fair" raising our coffers to $7000 +

  5. Found our Orange-A-Fair mentioned in WUFT and Newsbreak

  6. Planned for our next Annual Orange-A-Fair is March 20th 2027

  7. Repainted our building inside and out. 

  8. Completed the Septic System cleaning an determined usability

  9. Stripped and waxed the floors

  10. Replaced the roof with a generous donation.

  11. Started renting the Community Center again, utilizing the money making ability. 

  12. Started landscaping

  13. Planted orange trees

  14. Planned a Food Forest Edible Landscaping with irrigation

  15. We have a weekly renter for their religious services

  16. Planned out the layout of the Historic Museum including authentic cabinetry and countertops 

  17. Obtained dry wall and fasteners for the interior of the renovation of the Historic Museum.

  18. Received an Artist's rendition of what our long term Museum will hold

  19. Inspired future planning ideas to make the Historic Museum self-sustainable.

  20. Reached out to Railroad companies to obtain a rail car for coffee shop, etc to maintain the Museum

  21. Initiated a spark among people with notable artifacts to donate for display at our Museum

  22. Started the process to become a Florida Historic Site

  23. Holding the annual High School Reunion

  24. Planned video taping to capture long time stories, and memories from area folk for the Museum

  25. Held multiple monthly events (Christmas Angel Tree, Easter Egg Hunt, Back to School Bash, Ice Cream Social, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Halloween Trunk or Treat, Community Yard Sale,  including a Valentine's Dance that was extra fabulous)

  26. We have monthly speakers from our local government that includes Road and Engineering, Tax and Voting, Animal Control, and a greater focus on crime and drugs including Sheriff Deputies attending meetings and focusing on our small town

  27. were entertained by our County Commissioner Carl Zalak at a monthly meeting and he returned to present the State of the County at our Orange-A-Fair

  28. Have a voice in local government regarding growth and zoning

  29. Cleaned up a drug infested area and added wooden posts with treasured dedication plaques for Citra memories

  30. Are an "Adopt-A- Highway" and maintain it
